For a week-end or a short trip, Château Malescasse will welcome your like a royalty and privatize the entire house. Built in 1824, the château is nested in a wooded park of more than 6000 square meters, and in the heart of 40 hectares of vines. It has fine reception rooms renovated and decorated in a contemporary style, with all the necessary confort for a nice and serene stay with friends our family in the heart of our vineyard.
A 19th century Chartreuse, fully refurbished
The magnificent neoclassical Chartreuse (the term for typical medocan castles) of the 19th century has been fully renovated, and recovered its past architecture and former glory.
Beside the Château, 40 ha of vines, the cellar and the incredible tasting room have been restored and modernized at their most. Today, the estate is a welcoming place, full of life and still fitting its environment to take part in the Medocan life.

Château Malescasse – Location
Only 45 minutes away from the center of Bordeaux, Bordeaux Mérignac airport and Saint-Jean railway station, Château Malescasse is open all year long.
Located in Lamarque near the shores of the Gironde estuary, at ½ hour from the Atlantic Ocean and the Hourtin and Lacanau lakes. Enjoy the calm of Château Malescasse and its magnificent wooded park.
Malescasse is based in a triangle of land between Saint-Julien, Margaux et Moulis. It is a perfect place to discover the medocan region and to enjoy some of the finest wines in the world. Its proximity with the port of Lamarque allows the crossing of the estuary up to Blaye, but also with the well-known Route des Chateaux of Medoc, will enable the combination of your visit with those of other nearby wine estates as part of a historical and wine tourism tour.

A place full of calm and beauty, where you’ll live a very uncommon experience: being for a couple of days the landlord of a 19th castle. Entirely refurbished with all the modern amenities and confort, your days at Malescasse will remain unfogettable.
The entrance hall dives you into Malescasse’s unique atmosphere: a coloured chandelier designed by Bocci, three pictures covered with copper wires, art of Alice Andersen, warm the dressed stones. On the right, the dining room and its fireplace, then the modern kitchen are only waiting for hosts. On the left, the wide italian furnished living room and its cosy smoking room invites to farniente. Two comfortable bedrooms (18 and 19 m²) overlook the yard and the vines. On the first floor, two master suits (42 and 24 m²) will give an overview of the castle life: pastel colours, afghan carpets aquired in London, antique furnitures and modern bedding,… everything here evokes refinement and discrete luxury.
Finally, the top floor can be used as a wide playroom: XXL sofas, flat screen, board games (backgammon, chess, Tarot). The perfect place to gather with friends or family.

Before and during your stay at Château Malescasse, our caretaker will fullfil your needs and desires. Our team is at your entire disposal during your stay. Advance notice is necessary for special services.
Your stay at Malescasse
Arrival from 4 pm to 6 pm. Departure time max. 11 am. Breakfasts included, served from 8:30 am to 10 am in the Château dining room. Everyday bedroom cleaning is included.
A guided tour of the vines and cellar is included, as well as free tasting of the Vignobles Austruy wines.
The little extra: Choose the gourmet basket option and get a basket with fresh food and a recipe elaborated by a chef the day of your arrival (on demand)!
